English Vermouth At The BFT
English Vermouth is making a statement at the 2024 edition of the Big Fortified Tasting with seven producers making an appearance on our first ever feature table for this classic cocktail wine.
We are delighted to welcome seven producers of English Vermouth to the show this year, a reflection of the resurgent demand for this traditional cocktail-making wine. With cocktails such as the negroni and martini back featuring on the drinks list at so many top bars and restaurants, it's easy to understand why the number of producers has surged in recent years and we are delighted to be able to offer BFT attendees the opportunity to taste so many English Vermouth in one place. These wines have a lighter, more aromatic and sometimes more acidic style than a lot of their European counterparts, something that results from the unique nature of the English-grown grapes used as the base for these wines.
